It’s looking less and less likely that Biden OMB pick Neera Tanden will survive confirmation. Her history of nasty, partisan tweets about Republicans and lack of experience with anything having to do with budgeting have raised bipartisan objections. The Senate Homeland Security Committee canceled her Wednesday confirmation hearing and as of this writing has yet to reschedule it.

As Nina Bookout at the Victory Girls blog reports, Hugh Hewitt thinks she should be confirmed because “mean tweets” are not a serious enough reason to keep someone out of a high level position (although they were apparently reason enough for some people to trade President Trump for the disastrous Biden.)

Liberal journalist Glenn Greenwald disagrees. He says the mean tweets are only a manifestation of Tanden’s personality which creates abusive work environments wherever she goes. He describes her as “one of the most slanderous, vicious and deceitful partisan operatives in DC. She censored her own writers when funders demanded it. She's toxic, unhinged, and incompetent.”

Naturally, Biden’s spokesperson says they stand by Tanden ("toxic, unhinged and incompetent" seem to be resume enhancers in this Administration.) But in a way, it’s understandable why they don't want to have to search for a replacement. I appreciate how difficult it must be for them to find any Democrat in Washington who has any experience whatsoever in budgeting.
